My Newest Typewriter...

I'm still working on the other post that I promised you yesterday but I just HAD to share with you my newest typewriter!

New Year's Eve, me and Michael hit up my new favorite junk store called {Vintage & Thrift}. This is the same store that I found those cool vintage glass ornament balls at two weeks ago...

It's not super old but it's a lovely shade of blue and will fit in here nicely.

The kids are enamored each time I bring home a new one and Jake had fun typing out some new spelling words that he's been learning in school.

I plan on using it for some new artwork that I'll be starting on soon. I've got so many ideas and so much inspiration has been swirling my way lately that I can't wait to start creating again!

It's beginning to look alot like....

Christmas!

The newest issue of Inspired Ideas is out and it is so-so beautiful! So many beautiful projects and ideas....I've added 3 projects to my running {to-do} list! Specifically the Felt Ornaments, Silhouette Tags {using as ornaments!}, and the Sampler Trees and Yo Yo Trees {grouped together!}. I'm also seriously contemplating the China Doll Tree Topper and I am swooning over the Ornament Chandelier.

AND, I'm excited to debut my very first ornament tomorrow or Saturday! Done Spring Lane style!

My Type of Garden...

This Summer I became a gardener. I've always loved plants but this Summer I've gotten more serious and I've almost become obsessed:) Since we are in an apartment I'm limited to container gardening, But, it's been fairly productive and I shall have a small harvest of tomatoes soon.

Anyways, on facebook this afternoon, I came across a blog with a post about a gardening project involving a vintage typewriter. And you all know how much I love vintage typewriters! If my wish comes true and we get to move into our house, I shall expand my garden to include one...

I'm not sure I can muck up this beauty though. I might have to find one that's not in great shape to experiment with:)

Just My Type...

The hubster and me {I} snuck out for a few minutes alone to talk about things going on in our life right now. When you have 5 kids, quiet time or time alone to talk is hard to come by. So anyways, we snuck away for a bit and hit the trusty thrift store again. My heart stopped and then started beating wildly when I opened an ugly black case and found this vintage typewriter that I just had to have!

I have no idea how old it is. I really don't even care. All I know is that I needed to have it.

It's my first typewriter with the round keys {I'm sure there is a real name for them} and I absolutely LOVE it!

I just don't think I'll ever get tired of these things....or vintage cameras either.

It was the center of attention for a bit while the little folk took it for a test drive and begged me to let them do their schoolwork on it. I think it was worth the $10.00!

It's a Fiesta! {Post Edit}

Well, not quite. But, I feel like doing the chicken dance or something just as crazy. Kohl's is running a sale this week on Fiestaware and the hubster bought them for me! I have been wanting this set of dishes for over 16 years. And I'm 31, so really over half of my life....lol.

So, it looks like the house and the chandelier both move up on my list:)

Do you own any Fiestaware? If so, what colors do you have? If not, what colors would you get? I'm always curious which colors people get/want.

{Post Edit: Oh, and this is the reason I went crazy with the spray paint this weekend....out with the pastels...bring on the color!}

Custom Camera Strap Cover

With all of this talk about Cameras this week, I decided to finally spruce up mine with my very own strap slipcover! I got the directions on how to make one from Everything Etsy. It was fairly easy to make and I loved that I got to pick out my own fabrics for it! Anyways, here are some photos of my new, dollied-up camera strap....

Leave me a link if you decide to make one for yourself! I'd love to see it!

My Husband's a Cheap Date!

Yesterday after I got off of work, my husband Michael asked me if I wanted to go on a date. Of course I said, "Yes!". His surprise was to take me out for a day of thrifting. Yep. Thrift stores/junk shops:) My daughter asked him why he'd take me to the thrift store on a date. He replied that he wanted to spend time with me doing something that he knows I LOVE. Wasn't that sweet! We had a fabulous time and I came home with a few treasures. I've got another one to post tomorrow but I wanted to share the vintage books that I got yesterday to tear apart and use in collages. I am so excited that I found them, and am already using pages from the grammar one in my newest painting! I love my man....

This is the awesome-est...

I came across this tonight and I am in {love} with it! I think this is going on my Christmas list....you can find this pretty and cool chandelier at High Fashion Homes or Urban Outfitters and there is a mini-version at Mini Style. In my dream home I would have the larger one in the dining room and the smaller version above the kitchen sink.....how fun would it be to do dishes under this! {swoon!}
